Our Case: How Do We Respond

WHY WE LET OURSELVES, CONTINUOUSLY BE WRONGED BY PEOPLE LIKE GMA, WHOM WE ALLOW TO CONTINUOUSLY GO SCOT-FREE

WHO IS IT THAT WE ALLOW TO BE WRONGED WITH IMPUNITY?

Many of the soldiers among us who have been charged by the GMA government of what they term as "mutiny" have proven records of integrity and combat effectiveness as soldiers and as filipinos, before having, according to that charge, mounted resistance against that government. Many of those who have known them among us in one way or another, spoke of their being gentlemen and of their sterling qualities in responses to situations and their treatment of their fellowmen. They among us, have been consistent up to now even after having lost in maneuvers against the GMA puppet government of our foreign invaders. What then, can be the basis of arrest and put to prison of the patriotic filipino soldiers among us? There is only one so far. That is, tactical. The patriotic filipino soldiers among us were out maneuvered tactically by the enemies. This for us, is a temporary loss in the tactical battle. The will of our enemies, as of today, prevailed.

Apparently, many of the police and soldiers among us confuse the enemy of our nation with that of self, and the self with that of the enemy of the nation. There is a need for us to go back to elementary social studies.

WHO IS IT THAT WE ALLOW TO CONTINUOUSLY GO SCOT-FREE?

The GMA government has, by the use of sophisticated as well as brute legal, economic, and military instruments, suppressed the presentation of legal evidences which could have proved legally the initial report that the Armed Forces of the Philippines was used in the tampering of the 2004 election results by GMA. Members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines were prevented by GMA from testifying before the senate inquiry on the initial report. The Mayuga Report on the circumstances surrounding the incident in the military several years back in the Philippines, which would determine the guilt or innocence of those filipino soldiers among us as prisoners, has never been released.

The suppression of legal evidences to legally prove the initial report, is a validation of that initial report that the Armed Forces of the Philippines was indeed used in the tampering of the 2004 election results by GMA. These facts establish the status of the GMA Government as an illegitimate government of the Filipino Nation. This government, is a corrupted government.

Why do we allow those who have been continuing to suppress the evidences, to be defended by our security system? Why do we allow those who resist this suppression to be wronged with impunity?


WHAT HAS THE GMA GOVERNMENT COST OUR FILIPINO PEOPLE?

Because the GMA Government is already a corrupted organism in our nation. It's actions must also be corrupted, which incur damage to our people such as:

• 27,600,000 is the number of us filipinos in 2006 which increased by 2.9% from 2003, who could not afford to sustain ourselves with minimum basic needs for food, health, education and shelter.(1)

• Our towns in Aurora and Quezon provinces were buried in mud, tens of thousands among us were left homeless, or some 1500 of us either died or were left missing by the flood that hit sometime around 2004. These were caused by among others, the allowing of the GMA Government of Belen Chua, Toplight Lumber Corporation owner, to continue logging on 8000 hectars of land in Aurora province.(2)(3)

• Small retailers in Clark Pampanga were displaced by the giant SM company owner Henry Sy who was allowed by the GMA Government to operate in the area, despite of protests by the small retailers existing in the area and in spite of the anomalous processes.(4)

• A filipina among us was raped and the convicted U. S. Marine Corps personnel was released thru a legal, economic, and public relations maneuver by the GMA Government, continuing the historical pattern of convict-free or jailess criminal offenses by the americans in our country.(5)

• Handing over of our Sabah, our islands, agricultural lands, and economic bases to foreigners.

• Attempted anomalous $330 Million deal with the chinese providing our government broadband network services which would give the foreigners access to our information and communication.(6)

• The continued collaboration of the GMA Government with foreign invaders controlling our defense system in terms of policies, armaments, and the whole of our defense developmental code thru military education programs, as well as economic, military, political, and cultural package deals with our top officials and critical mass which have been generating and perpetuating the dependency processes in our nation.(7) A result of this defense developmental code of dependency, is a defense which could not anymore develop beyond counter-insurgency capbility. This results to our orientation towards attacking only of self in defending the foreign invader who is resisted by the self. This is an autoimmune disease at the social level.

Is it not yet clear to us that GMA has been collaborating with foreigners who have been continuing their invasion of our nation since 1899? Is it not clear to us yet that GMA has committed acts of treason? Is it not common sense to us that our foreign invaders have maneuvered their invasion into a more subtle but deeper level of penetration?

WHAT HAS OUR ALLOWING THOSE AMONG US WHO RESISTED THE GMA GOVERNMENT TO CONTINUOUSLY BE WRONGED, COST US?

For having resisted this infection in our society, we filipinos paid even further for the cost, the GMA Government has inflicted upon us:

• 800 of us filipino journalists, students or ordinary folks who were guilty of having defended in our own way our people against human rights abuses and one fertilizer scam witness against the GMA Government, have been killed since 2001 as of today.(8)

• Jun Lozada was jailed and harrased for having refused to deny that he was kidnapped by the GMA Government agents to prevent him from testifying before an investigation on the GMA involvement in the $330 Million anomalous ZTE broadband deal with the chinese.(6)  The very ethical values of his children among us, is now in danger of being eroded.

SO WHY DO WE CONTINUE TO ALLOW THIS INJURY BEING INFLICTED UPON US?


GUILT OF EXISTENCE AS A FILIPINO NATION

We are not refering to our pride in having been associated with a filipino boxer as the champion of the world, or wearing a shirt with words "I LOVE MY PHILIPPINES" in bold, blue, red and yellow colored letters. These are good. But what we are refering to, are matters that affect the lives of the people of our nation. We are refering to us, individuals who should be taking upon ourselves, not to throw our wastes on our creeks or rivers. We are refering to those among us who should be taking upon ourselves ensuring that our trees are not cut unless a matter of life or death. We are refering to us, buying shoes and guitars that are locally made instead of from China because we know that those products used to be our domain in the world but has been lost because of the maneuvers of foreigners economically dominating us and displacing us out of our access to our own resources. We are refering to the soldiers among us not allowing ourselves to be controlled by foreigners in charting our own destiny by protecting our own brother filipinos before a conflict of interest between the foreign invader and us filipinos resisting the invasion. We are refering to those personnel in the immigration bureau among us, who are not allowing entry of illegal aliens even when bribed with a huge amount of money.  We are refering to each and everyone of us filipinos not allowing corruption of our nation and leaving others in injury inspite of huge amount of material rewards for us and our family in exchange.

We can only allow this continuation of injury being inflicted upon us if we have either lost our reason for national existence, or have developed a national existense guilt. This is the same as an adolescent who developed schizoprenia as a result of having lost differentiation of self from the world because of the lack of maternal love resulting to an experience of deprivation in childhood. The adolescent individual lost interest and confidence in the self.(9) This is the same as a girl, who having been raped and drugged, without spiritual and psychological counsel, lost all interest in her dignity and her future except in a fix of dope and survival. For having a disintegrated nation, we, by the nature of preservation instinct, have been experiencing a regression towards individualism. From a nationcentric, we regressed to familial or egocentric. But man is by nature, a social being. To fill the vacuum, we have been looking for the biggest a social home we can find, where we can belong to. That is why, many of us find ourselves placing our loyalty above anything else, to a family, a clan, a benevolent politician, a professional organization we can be proud to belong to, a social class, or a benevolent foreign invader. Anything, as long as we can get the needs for our flesh, our security, self-worth, and fullfilment. But above all, we are really looking for a social home where we can experience love for others.


BUT WE HAVE A NATION-- AN INHERITED HOME FROM OUR FATHERS(10)(11)

We need not look for something else beyond us. We need not place our future in the hands of foreigners. We need not develop a nation thru synthetic process.  We already have an organically developed nation. Why should we let such treasured home go into waste and spend resources trying to look for new materials from which to fabricate something new? Such treasured home is our inheritance. Why let our own inherited treasured home be eaten by worms only to spend extra energies experimenting in trying to synthesize another home we conceive of to be of treasures?

We already have a spiralling upward direction towards developmental maturation of mutually complementing individuals for the national interest. They are existing, and they are ours.

We already have an existing national developmental code for sustainability when we were born as a nation. This is a natural inheritance of every living entity at whatever level. This is also accompanied with weaknesses and imbalances with an inherent balancing mechanism towards stability thru the process of maturation. This occurrence remains in motion until an intervention takes place which is not part of the organic process. This organic process occurred in France, Germany, Finland, Israel, Japan and Vietnam. Today they have some of the highest scores in global performance in their particular categories. We were heading in that direction when we were born as a nation in 1898 when we became independent from Spain. We were in the process of sustaining our excellence and addressing our sociological imbalances. This, we were struggling to settle among ourselves under a condition of a sovereign, independent and republican nation. We, conflicting among ourselves as we were, were charting our national destiny as a filipino nation, just like any newly born living entity struggling towards balance and proper coordination of the different parts of it's body.


WHERE IS OUR INHERTED NATION? WHY CAN WE NOT FIND IT?(11)(12)(13)

Weak as we were, being a newly born nation, foreign matters who happened to be americans, invaded us. Weak as we were, we resisted fiercely. Thus in 1899, our sociological temperature rose which was the manifestation of the start of the Filipino-American War.
Gen Artemio Ricarte, Gen Antonio Luna, Gen Malvar, Gen Macario Sakay, Maj Torres Bugallón and all our elder warriors, our national heroes resisted fiercely our foreign invaders and their filipino collaborators who have been grabbing our newly born nation of 1898 away from us starting from 1899 up to now. Our foreign invaders damaged the development of our code of nationalism by:

• having suppressed, terrorized, and killed those nationalistic filipinos among us who resisted their invasion by which 500,000 to 900,000 of us filipinos died initially at the physical stage of invasion;

• having protected, promoted and sustained filipino collaborators among us, of foreign invasion;

• having replaced our inherited institutions such as academia militar, defense, education, political, culture, hero designations, legal, national identity and values with apparently filipino but having transmitted into them a corrupted and replicating developmental code of worshipping dependence on our foreign invaders.

The enemies have replicated their forces at the cultural level which broke our link with each other.

Today, we have a group of islands which happen to have a boundary inhabited by different individuals with interests conflicting with one another. These result to dysfuntion of the different systems of our nation that the only way these individuals have been able to survive was the handing over of the interest of the nation to the foreign invaders and receive material rewards. We have leaders dysfuntioning because of interest of self is in conflict with national interest. We have a security system which has likewise been infected and now dysfuntioning because the interests of individual members are also in conflict with national interest. We have individuals populating our archipelago whose interests are in conflict with the people of the nation as a whole. Our individual interests in exchange for the destroying of each other with what is left of the nation still in existense is in a spiralling downward direction.

ETHICAL OR TACTICAL?

From the aforementioned situation, it is clear that the GMA government charges of what they term as "mutiny", against the patriotic soldiers among us, have no moral ethical basis. It is based on the GMA Government prevention of the status quo from being dismantled by the defending forces of our nation.

This battle is, tactical for those who want to preserve the status quo. This battle is also tactical for those among us who have a clear ethical basis for our actions regarding this issue. This is ethical for those among us who still have love for our nation and sincerely want to have a moral ethical basis for our actions.

Let us disseminate this knowledge to all our brother filipinos so that we can have a moral ethical basis on who we should defend. 

SO WHAT IS OUR ETHICAL BASIS FOR HAVING ALLOWED OUR NATION TO CONTINUOUSLY BE WRONGED BY PEOPLE WHOM WE ALLOW TO CONTINUOUSLY GO SCOT-FREE?

We have long lived to serve only the needs of the flesh of our self and maybe that of our family.  But in a finite material world, this is at the expense of another. Now we know we can live beyond this. The accused patriotic soldiers among us, long for all of us filipinos to come home.  The big brothers among us, see to it that no one among us brother filipinos, is left behind, but all will come home. We can have a nation where we can live in dignity. And we actually have a nation. We inherited it. We only have to recover what has been deprived us.

Let us recover our own nation for every one of us filipinos. It will be a very long day! But we have a nation we can come home to.  We will be home, brothers!

Are those among us, charged by GMA, to be indeed punished, or rewarded, as...

                   MUTINEERS  OR  HEROES? 

There were soldiers among us filipinos who resisted the GMA government which is a group with a military force which: collaborated with foreigners to continue their control of our defense, political, and economic systems; handed over to foreigners our territories like Sabah and Spratlys; prevented the investigation of reports regarding the involvement of the AFP Chain of Command in the tampering of the 2004 Presidential Election results and; thereafter collaborated with the chinese in having access to the communication and information network of our nation thru the ZTE broadband deal.  The GMA government however charged these soldiers among us with what they termed as "mutiny".  These actions of GMA which were being resisted by soldiers among us who were charged, are national security issues.  But more fundamentally, these are issues concerning the damage of our national developmental code included in which, the moral ethics of a generation after generation of us, filipinos.  Who among us then, could have put up a resistance against such acts against such group?

These soldiers among us who were charged in court by the GMA government with what they termed as “mutiny”, were actually continuing the tradition of nationalism, bravery, excellence, independence, justice, and responsiveness to society lived by General Artemio Ricarte, General Antonio Luna, General Macario Sakay, Maj Torres Bugallón, and many of our warriors ahead of us.  How could it be that the loftiest traditions of our heroes then, would become a crime today?

It was not a crime then to resist injustices in whatever form.  It was heroism.  Is it right today for anybody to determine an act to be a crime based on failure to achieve the objective for that act by the person?  Is this today our principle of justice? 

For the sacrifices of these soldiers among us in defending our nation, honor and reward is the only deserving compensation. The very least that should come from our efforts is the working for reinstatements. These soldiers among us should also be compensated for damages to be appropriated from GMA, Esperon, Senga, Yano who dismissed the enlisted personnel, Garci, Mayuga for hiding the evidences, Puno, and many others involved in the crime of treason.

When will this reign of injustices of the strongest, exploiting the weakest among us, go on?  We should set a precedent by considering crimes as unacceptable and defense of helpless victims of such crimes as the norm that is valued in our nation.  We should set a precedent by considering the taking advantage of the imperfections of the laws made by man, and of the physical weaknesses as well as weaknesses of judgement of a person in order to gain a personal benefit at the expense of another, as a crime.  We should set a precedent that justice does prevail.

MY STATEMENT

After my arrest in 2006, I was placed in solitary for five months where I had plenty of time to contemplate my fate. My incarceration had been marked by a heretofore unheard of abuse of the system of military discipline. Four years later, though I have gained some form of liberty and as I continue with my trial, I still wait for justice.

But it is not justice for myself that I was or am waiting for, but justice for my country. My incarceration has compelled me to watch by the sidelines as the nation suffered from an administration that not only stole the vote, but used this lack of legitimacy to conduct the biggest pillage in history. I was also compelled to swallow the gross display of power that allowed corrupt officers to rise to prominence and position provided they abet the continuous flagellation of all the institution’s highest ideals.

I say, “Enough.” I had taken an oath to protect my country and thus can no longer stand idly by as those who profited from the previous administration, those who openly abetted the destruction of decency and fair play continue to reap the benefits of their crimes, beginning with those officers who corrupted the Armed Forces by their participation in Gloria Arroyo’s reign of greed.

To those officers who aided and abetted Garci, those responsible for extra judicial killings and disappearances, those who stole public funds, in the name of my country and all that is right and just, I’m coming for you.

YOUR HEROES ARE OUR HEROES TOO

Your heroes are not mutineers—a deception concocted by an intruding government. Who is the lawful authority they rebelled against? Is it the one whose only claim to legitimacy is the prevention of presentation of evidences of the GMA involvement in the tampering of the 2004 presidential election results in an investigation?

Your heroes are not coup plotters—a deception concocted by an intruding government. What has a coup got to do with our being continuously occupied by the Americans today since 1899 when they begun to invade us? The Americans have poured their toxic wastes in the Subic, Zambales area which resulted to rare diseases to our children there. They raped our Filipinas freely. They continue to conduct military exercises in our terrain to familiarize in an area strategically valuable to them. This makes us Filipinos, even more militarily vulnerable to the Americans. What has a coup got to do with the continued subtle invasion of the Chinese of our economic areas from the 1900s till now also as a result of that American invasion of 1899. There are Americans like Capt David Fagen, Mark Twain, Andrew Carnegie and many others who defected on our side or have fought for the rights of nations which their own nation have abused. There are Chinese or Chinese meztizos in the Philippines such as Herman Tiu Laurel, Alejandro Lichauco and Gen Danilo Lim in the Philippines who: came here with legitimate purpose; fought for the cause of our liberation as a Filipino nation-- they are more Filipinos than the collaborator GMA, the congressmen for sale or Filipino mercenaries in the Armed Forces. They are either assets or added treasures of our nation. In the past, the Spanish blood in the veins of our heroes like Andrés Bonifacio and Fr. José Burgos did not deter them from confronting the Spaniards by having organized an independence movement for us and upheld our status and rights. Thru all these invasion, GMA has been collaborating. Is this not treason? What has a coup got to do with arresting the perpetration of the acts of treason? Is this not the duty of every soldier of a nation? Is defending the nation against foreign invasion not the essence of the profession of a soldier?

In more healthy and civilized nations like France, Israel, Japan and Vietnam, their soldiers professional as they are, would have spontaneously mounted a fierce resistance against foreign invaders and their collaborators. Gen Charles de Gaulle of France is one example of having led the resistance against the German invasion and the French puppet government of the Germans, Petain. A few years after that, he had the US base in France removed.

But we Filipinos also have a tradition of warriors who resisted the American invaders of 1899. To name a few, Gen Ricarte, Gen Antonio Luna, Gen Alejandrino, Gen Tino, Gen Lukban, Gen Malvar, Gen Sakay, and Maj Torres Bugallon. They offered their lives to leave as a nation born in 1898 and one we can come home to as our own. This is the fine tradition inherited by professional filipino soldiers among us today. They are, as all of us filipinos should be, continuing that unfinished fight to recover our inherited nation.

Your heroes are continuing that fight, so that we can all soon come, to our own home.

FOOTBALL AND THE HEALTH OF OUR NATION

HOW WE LOST, YET CAN RECOVER THEM

Rigoberto Tiglao said it well when he presented the process which led to our having lost football from our culture. The article, which appeared in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, first posted 23:34:00 06/30/2010 at: http://opinion.inquirer.net/inquireropinion/columns/view/20100630-278492/Why-were-not-into-soccer-2 has indeed identified this particular response to a particular stimulus as a symptom of a deeper national disease. We are playing a different game from that which normal nations are playing- a game which benefits their own nation and the world. We are playing a game that which a nation held in captivity is playing- a game which is injuring our national development, which has less benefits to the world, and which benefits only the north american nation.

We have been developmentally forced to play basketball, a favorite north american sport, inspite of our genetic handicap as far as excelling requirements of the game is concerned. While on the other hand we are genetically fit to excel in football, our original favorite sport since the time it was introduced to us, as indicated in the importance we gave to our stadium in Manila, by the official name “Rizal Memorial Track and Football Stadium” as well as our status in football in Asia decades ago. We are simply not anymore who we are. This is one of the symptoms of a nation with a social disease whose original national characteristics have been altered resulting to alienation to itself and disintegration. Therefor, there must have been a corruption of our national developmental code that brought about this deviation or mutation of our national development. This is a symptom and the process of an Alienation of Identity and Defilipinization Syndrome (AIDS). Except for the existence of God, all events came to exist as a result of a cause. AIDS is no exception.

We now have AIDS as a result of the weakening of our national defense instincts. Compared with normal nations all over the world particularly the well developed nations like France, Germany, Israel, Japan, South Korea, and Vietnam, and our nation which fiercely defended foreign invasion in the 1900s, we today do not anymore defend: our forests from being denuded; our rivers from being dumping sites; our economic resources from being taken over by the north americans and the chinese; our brother filipinos from being killed inside american military bases inside our country; our filipinas from being raped by U.S. personnel; and our national sovereignty from foreign aggressors. We have lost our instincts to defend our nation because we have lost our nation to disintegration. We have lost living for our nation. We have simply lived for our selves. This is indicated by the intensity and extent of moral corruption in our society. This is indicated by the extent of the level of moral corruption in our society as compared to normal nations. We have ceased to live for our nation, but only for our selves and our family.

Our having been corrupted is not merely a corruption in politics, in the judiciary, in the defense or in the legislature. It has become cultural because it is already in our national developmental code. This is the national counterpart of genetic code in an individual biological unit.

Our original national developmental code was a national characteristic of cleanliness in our rivers and streets, beautiful people with wholesome charateristics, socially responsive to our nation and to the world, fiercely resistant to foreign invasion and with a nationalistic defense system. This is sometime before, during, and sometime after the birth of our nation in 1898. The height of this characteristic was tested during the earlier years of the north american invasion when we resisted fiercely in 1899, sustained it in the early 1900s. The north american invaders suffered lingering and costly loses that they were in danger of giving up their invasion that they resorted to putrid and cowardly acts- hostage taking and extermination of civilians among us filipinos. This resulted to 500,000 to 900,000 deaths among us filipinos. Our physical resistance having weakened, the north americans took over control of our defense system, political system, economic system, education system, and cultural system. They transmitted into our systems the system they fabricated which turned our nation of filipinos and the succeding generations thereafter, into a denationalized, disintegrated individuals, worshipping dependents of our north american invaders. Our inherited national developmental code- the original characteristics of our nation has been injured. This is the Heredity Injuring Virus (HIV).

An interest in football among us filipinos could be an indication that we are begining to recover our organic national developmental code. A clearer indication of recovery is the kick-start of an organic constitution, organic defense system, and an organic culture. But the clearest indication would be when the next season, there would already be in our nation a kick-out of the north american control of all our systems. When will be the kickoff?
